Course Bookings
To book a place on a course please select 'menu' and 'find and book a course'. This will redirect you to the course dates and venues page, where you will able to search for a course via location and date. We aim to keep this list as up-to-date as possible, if you are unable to find a course date which is suitable, please check back in a few weeks as new courses are added daily.
Before the course
Once you have secured your place on a course, your course co-ordinator will send you details of the course location, accommodation and the course programme. You will also be enrolled onto the course page within 3 months of the course date. You can access this by hovering over the 'my courses' tab on the left of the page. If you have not been enrolled or are struggling to find where this is located, you will need to contact your course coordinator.
You are required to complete the pre-course learning and prepare your allocation at least 24 hours before you attend the face-to-face aspect of the course. If you are unable to access your allocation, you will need to contact the governing body relevant to your provider course. Contact details for ALSG and the Resuscitation Council UK can be found in the 'Support and Contacts' section below.
You will also receive a copy of the Generic Instructor Course 3rd Edition Manual, this will be dispatched directly to you by the course co-ordinator no later than 6 weeks before the course date (unless otherwise arranged). If you do not receive a copy of the manual in this time please contact your course co-ordinator.
Following the course
Throughout your GIC you will complete an instructor progress log, following successful completion of the GIC you will be required to take this log to both of your ICs. It is vital you keep the log safe and inform the course co-ordinator if you have misplaced your log so a replacement can be made.
Once the course returns for the course have been completed (no longer than 6 weeks from the course date) you will be able to download a completion certificate. You will then receive an e-mail within 8 weeks of the course from the relevant
governing body detailing your next steps to becoming an instructor. If you have not received an e-mail in this time please contact either ALSG or the Resuscitation Council UK on the details in the 'Support and Contacts' section
below.
If for any reason you do not successfully pass the GIC, the faculty will make a decision whether or not you should be allowed to attend a further GIC. If they recommend that you re-take the GIC you can attend a further GIC but you will
be liable for all costs.
If the faculty recommend that you should not attend a GIC again, you will not be able to attend one unless you re-certify as a Provider and are recommended again from the same provider background.
You may attend another GIC if you are recommended from a different provider background or you have been recommended from more than one provider background at the time of taking the original GIC. You would then be allowed to take another
GIC as a candidate from the other provider background.
My name is spelt incorrectly on your certificate?
You can edit your name by hovering your mouse over your name in the right hand corner, and selecting 'edit profile'.
Please ensure your name is spelt correctly and capitalised prior to downloading the PDF copy of your certificate from the course page as this cannot be changed once it has been generated.

The release of your certificate is subject to the following conditions:1. You have successfully completed the pre-learning course learning in full.
2. You have completed the post course feedback questionnaire and personal information questionnaire (both of which are located on your course page).
3. Your course results have been submitted by the course coordinator and processed by the relevant governing body.
